CIELS Campus offers a wide range of foreign languages, focusing on learning through a continuous, daily practice that puts into practice your theoretical studies.

Both traditional western languages (English, German, Spanish and French) and Afro-Asian and Middle-Eastern languages (Chinese, Arabic and Russian) are taught.

Thanks to constant practical exercises and simulation of concrete experiences, by the end of each academic year students will be able to reach a certain level of competence and knowledge of a foreign language.

CIELS offers 2 different curricula of Language Mediation:
Language and Translation – LT
Language, Translation and Interpreting – LTI
Depending on the curriculum chosen, students learn the skills of the written Language Mediation through the study of texts on different topics with the aid of CAT tools, and learn the main techniques of the oral mediation through different modules:

• Language
• Contrastive analysis and Introduction to Translation (1st year)
• Introduction to Interpreting (1st year)
• Dialogue interpreting (1st/2nd year)
• Active Consecutive Interpreting (2nd/3rd year) optional
• Passive Consecutive Interpreting (2nd/3rd year) optional
• Active translation (3rd year)
• Passive translation (2nd/3rd year)
• Community interpreting (3rd year) optional
• Simultaneous interpreting

*The courses Language and Translation 1 and Practical exercises in Oral Mediation for Arabic, Chinese and Russian comprehend the following modules: Language, Contrastive analysis and Introduction to Translation Introduction to Interpreting

Third language

Ciels also gives you the possibility to learn a third language – as covered by regulation – among those made available in the relevant academic year.

Depending on the language chosen, students will attend the modules of Language, Translation and Interpreting to complete their training in another language.
